As parents, we entrust our children to the care of those within the teaching profession, relying on them to put the well-being of our children foremost at all times.
We do not expect this to mean we give up our right of parental control to decide when and how such topics are raised with our children.
Andrew Kearsey and his staff should be commended for making their school the place it is.
Natasha Thoday's sexuality is not the issue. The fact she states this was "not about the money" is an insult to the parents, staff and pupils alike.
Were she sincere, perhaps the money should have been donated to the school Friends for the children's benefit or some other children's charity.
Ms Thoday's attitude will no doubt mean further confrontations in other posts in other schools but as long as this keeps her in cars, what do our rights matter?
