As an end-to-end reader of The Argus for many years, I prayed that the boring and often childish backbiting letters on the mayoral referendum would end after the vote.
But no, still they carry on with their endless carping.
Now the die is cast, why don't both sides shut up and get on with running Brighton and Hove to their best of their, often limited, ability?
Simon Fanshawe (Letters, October 24) stated: "Labour councillors were elected on a Labour manifesto to deliver Labour priorities."
Tony Blair was so elected some four-and-a-half years ago but the promised improvements in health, education, law and order and so on have not been delivered by the so-called "Tony and his cronies". This despite a massive mandate and poor opposition.
It is little wonder, then, that the local electorate should shy away from centralising power in Brighton.
They are worried that Stevie's Wonders could change to Basser's Hashers, aided and abetted by Fanny's Nannies and Roger's Dodgers.
