Lewes manager Jimmy Quinn has appealed to fans to roar his side to a historic victory in their FA Cup replay with Mangotsfield United tomorrow night.

The winners were drawn to face Stoke City in the first round proper.

The Rooks have never reached the first round in their 116-year history but after Saturday's 0-0 draw in the West Country the chance to play second division Stoke represents a huge money-spinning opportunity for the Sussex club.

Lewes would almost certainly switch the tie to Stoke's 28,000 capacity Britannia Stadium should they win the Dripping Pan replay (7.45pm).

Quinn is hoping the whole town will get behind his team. He said: "I would like to ask the people of Lewes to get out on Tuesday night and back us because it will be the biggest achievement in the club's history if we win.

"The financial implications could help set the club up for years and years to come. It's important that they come out in their numbers and cheer us on to a victory.

"Everyone is over the moon, both sets of players are absolutely delighted and so they should be. It's possibly the biggest draw we could have got and Stoke get good crowds.

"It would be a fantastic day out for the players and that's what it should be about."

Chairman Terry Parris added: "Ideally we will go back to their place. There was a six per cent chance of getting one of the top sides in the competition and I think we have done that."
