This year is the 80th anniversary of The Royal British Legion.
The Poppy Appeal has helped to fund the Legion's work to deliver a caring service for the benefit of the ex-Service community in need continuously since 1921.
More people are approaching the Legion for help than ever before and the need for public support is as great as ever.
Appropriately, Armistice Day falls on Remembrance Sunday this year, providing an opportunity for a special act of Remembrance as the Legion celebrates its 80th year on active service on behalf of those for whom we appeal.
Please give generously and wear a poppy with pride.
-Cllr Harry Steer, Mayor, Brighton and Hove City Council
