Some seafront traders in Brighton are a bit miffed about the lack of trade this week as their road has been closed for parking.
Delegates for a large communications conference have been given permission to park in Madeira Drive until Wednesday.
It's one of the biggest conferences to visit the resort and is worth a lot of money.
The parking arrangement has worked well in past years. The trouble this time is that the conference has coincided with half-term, which is late this autumn.
Brighton and Hove has the solution within its hands another year. It should ensure half-term is held at the normal time.
It's understandable that it wants to keep the conference but business from schoolchildren is important to the traders.
Let's hope the sun keeps shining for them during the rest of the week when the conference delegates have gone home.
