A woman who bought a three-piece suite in September to guarantee a new look living room in time for Christmas is furious about delays.

Tanya Shaw paid £1,275 for the suite seven weeks ago and is still waiting for it to be delivered.

Now she has been told she may have to wait another four weeks.

She bought the suite from Furniture Warehouse, in Basin Road, Shoreham, on September 9, and was told it would take between four to six weeks to arrive.

Miss Shaw, of Fletching Road, Whitehawk, said she phoned the company after four weeks and was told there was trouble getting the fabric and she might have to wait another month.

Miss Shaw said: "They told me it would take four to six weeks. I rang them up the other week and they said they could not get the fabric for it, they are having trouble getting the fabric.

"They should not be selling the suites if they have not got them, it is poor.

"When you spend that amount of money you expect it to be there within the time they said.

"I am hoping I will get it before Christmas because I have ordered curtains to match it.

"There is no way I am going to turn around and say I want the pattern changed because it matches the room."

A spokeswoman for Furniture Warehouse said she apologised to Miss Shaw and had already told the supplier the suite was needed urgently.

She said the company always tried to deliver high customer service but there had been severe problems with some of Furniture Warehouse's suppliers.

She said: "It is a problem the suppliers have had with that particular fabric. We have liaised with her and she did want to wait to get the one she ordered."

The Argus reported last week how another Furniture Warehouse customer had been waiting 11 weeks for her new suite to arrive, after paying £1,365.
