Police were asking shoppers for help today in their hunt to find the post office robber who injured two customers.
One of the customers died a week after the raid.
Officers spent the morning at Jengers Mead shopping centre in Billingshurst where the robber fled empty-handed after knifing a customer and pushing over a pensioner on October 17.
Margaret Hopkins, 68, of West Street, Billingshurst, suffered six broken ribs in the fall.
She collapsed and died at her home a week later after developing a thrombosis in her leg.
The other customer, who grappled with the robber, was knifed in the arm.
He was taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, for surgery to stop the bleeding.
The man, who has not been named, pulled off the robber's balaclava, which was made from opaque tights, and his baseball cap before being injured. They were left behind when the intruder fled.
Police were today trying to jog the memories of shoppers by showing them the grey baseball cap, which has a frayed peak and the word Chamaco on it.
Officers believe the robber ran from the post office into an alleyway beside the store.
He ran past garages and through a passage to Coombe Hill where a passer-by saw him sprinting towards West Street.
Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Moore said: "We would like to hear from anyone who has an idea about who wears a cap like the one found."
Shoppers were being asked if they saw the man before or after the 10.30am robbery.
