Crude, rough, self-centred personalities indulging themselves in whinging self-pity.

I trust they are not representative of social workers generally.

Little John Smith was seen but the social workers concerned appear to have lacked both the intelligence and power of observation to recognise when a small, helpless child was slowly being tortured to death.

It is time, surely, to re-appraise the training of social workers and the selection procedure for those aspiring to join their ranks so this vocation can become a more caring and intelligent force.
