People and companies are being offered a chance to dine with Prince Charles at his home - for £100,000 a ticket.
The chance of meeting the Prince is part of a final push to meet a £5 million target set by fund-raisers at Chichester Cathedral.
Prince Charles is patron of the Millennium Endowment Appeal, set up to ensure the restoration of the 900-year-old cathedral for years to come.
The appeal says it is looking for donations from individuals or companies of £100,000 or more.
As well as hosting a reception and dinner at his home, Highgrove in Gloucestershire, the Prince is also due to visit the cathedral to unveil a plaque with the names of donors inscribed on it.
No dates for the two events have been fixed but both are likely to take place next summer.
Brigadier Tim Bevan, secretary of the appeal, said: "Prince Charles has not yet visited the cathedral but has taken a great interest in our work and been briefed on our progress.
"We are due to finish restoration work in 2006 and the purpose of the endowment fund is that it will build up interest and kick-in whenever we need to do further work.
"This will mean the cathedral is preserved for centuries to come."
Mr Bevan said the fund had already raised £4 million, including two private donations of £250,000 each.
