A project to bring the Bible to students and young adults has won an award for a Brighton design studio.
Identity, The Gospel of St Mark, was designed by ie DesignSolutions and presented with the PPL-Adobe Design Award for its clarity and ease of use.
Dan McQue, who runs the studio, said the brief was to take the text and make it more accessible to sceptical 16 to 35-year-olds.
He said: "With a target audience of bible novices and reluctant readers, we had to do more than just repackage the text of St Mark's Gospel. We split the book into two bite-sized sections called Checking Identity and Identity Accepted."
The judges, from Apple and Adobe, felt the booklet was highly individual and fit for its purpose.
The project was commissioned by the University and Colleges Christian Fellowship with funding from the Scripture Gift Mission.
Already, more than 400,000 copies have been handed out.
Oliver Leggett, art director at the studio, said: "It's great to have our work recognised."
