Residents are today celebrating victory in their fight to stop a town centre bar in Worthing from opening until 1am.
They feared if Cloisters bar, a former church in High Street, Worthing, was granted a licence to open late it would lead to more noise and crime.
But Worthing councillors rejected the application by the Angmering-based Chapman Group last night.
Residents, police and the owner of the nearby Liquid Lounge club had all objected to the proposal.
