Police today arrested a man in connection with the death of a pensioner who died after being caught up in a post office robbery.
The man, who is in his 20s, was arrested at a home in Henfield this morning.
The attempted robbery took place at the sub post office in Jengers Mead, Billingshurst, on Wednesday October 17.
Customer Margaret Hopkins, 68, suffered six broken ribs after being knocked to the floor as the raider fled empty-handed from the shop.
She collapsed and died at her home in West Street, Billingshurst, a week after the raid. She had developed thrombosis in her leg.
Another customer who grappled with the robber was knifed in the arm when he pulled off the man's balaclava and baseball cap.
The man arrested today was being questioned at Crawley police station in connection with the investigation into Mrs Hopkins' death, the stabbing and the attempted robbery.
Police say he is not the man who was arrested on Thursday October 18. He has been eliminated from the inquiry.
