An election has been called to replace a husband and wife team of councillors who quit after more than 20 years' service.
Lib Dems Mike and Gill Skinner had represented Uckfield as town and district councillors but left Sussex in September after Mr Skinner's defeat in the county council elections.
Wealden District Council has called for a by-election to find replacements for the couple to represent Uckfield at district level.
The Tory candidates are Silvia Buck and Geoffrey Sampson, the Lib Dems are Michael Hakiel and Anthony Parker with Duncan Bennett and Ian Smith standing for Labour.
The election is expected to take place on November 29.
