I sincerely hope Peter Stuart (Letters, November 2) will enjoy living in a concrete jungle with not a butterfly or bird in sight, which he most certainly will if he and others of his ilk have their way - that is if he escapes the wrath of the majority which cares about the environment and does its best to preserve it.
Far from trying to stop youngsters enjoying watching the Albion, I and others appreciate their need for a permanent home.
But not at the expense of encroaching even further into the countryside, with subsequent loss of butterflies and other forms of wildlife Mr Stuart does not care a monkey's about.
To those who contemptuously dismiss our village as already spoilt, the residents of Falmer are doing their best to preserve what is left of the surrounding downland, not only for ourselves but also for future generations.
