Wivenhoe Town arrived late at Queen Street for their Ryman division two match but must have wished they had stayed at home as Horsham romped to a 7-0 win last night.
The Hornets went ahead in the third minute when visiting goalkeeper Darren Moyes failed to hold Luke Gedling's 20-yard shot and John Kirby pounced.
It was 2-0 after 14 minutes when Gary Charman crossed from the left and Jamie Taylor volleyed home.
Taylor got his second a minute later as Moyes spilled Charman's curling shot and he completed his hat-trick on 29 minutes with a header.
Wivenhoe won a penalty in the 41st minute when Martin Lempriere upended Jimmy Chatters but Heiko Hess hit the right post.
Charman made it 5-0 before the break and there were further goals from Taylor (83) and Ben Jones (90).
Lewes beat visiting Witham Town 4-0 in the Isthmian League Cup.
It took just 20 mintues for the Rooks to take the lead with Sam Francis racing clear to score. Lewes doubled their lead on 25 minutes when Justin Harris finished well from just outside the penalty area after good work on the right by Lee Newman.
Seven minutes from half time Andy Johnson added a third with a 25 yard shot and ten minutes from time Francis added his second with a solo effort which secured a visit to premier division Canvey Island in the next round.
