Millwall target Steve Harper was among the scorers as Burgess Hill romped to a record-breaking 12-0 win against lowly Saltdean last night.
Harper got his 16th goal of the season against the Tigers as Hillians coasted to their biggest win in senior football.
And the 19-year-old striker revealed he could soon be swapping County League division one for the Nationwide First Division if he successfully completes a month's trial with the South London club.
Harper said: "It was a good win for us and it's always nice to score. I hope to start training with Millwall as soon as possible.
"It was done through Danny Bloor and Gerry Armstrong, they spoke to Mark McGhee so I'll go there and probably train with the under-19s.
"It is very exciting, it's for a month and I'll have a chance to show what I can do. I'd love to be a professional. I'll try and impress them and hopefully show them I'm worth offering a contract."
Hillians' assistant manager Bloor said: "The boy has a lot of the right things you need to get into professional football. He is only 19, although he looks older and he has got a lot of pace.
"It will be interesting to see how he'll do at a professional club. I think he has got the right attributes."
Ashley Carr put the ball in the back of the net but his effort was ruled out for handball after only six minutes of the division one clash.
Richard Carter should have put the hosts ahead in the 12th minute but he was guilty of a horrendous miss from Phil Churchill's pass.
The home side were rampant and it was no surprise when the Hillians finally scored in the 19th minute. Carter crossed from the right, Daren Newman headed the ball down and Carr applied the finishing touch for his 15th goal of the season.
Two minutes later Churchill made it 2-0 with a firm downward header.
Tigers keeper Rob Pockney made a great save from Carr on the half hour mark to keep the score down but he was beaten again a minute later when Churchill drilled in a low shot.
On 34 minutes Carter hit the bottom of Pockney's right hand post with a fiercely struck shot. Three minutes later Gary Callingham produced an acrobatic tip over from Pockney with a shot from 35 yards after earlier firing a free-kick inches over.
A minute before half time player-coach Sean Edwards got his second of the season as the game quickly turned into a farce. Edwards scored at the second attempt and in first half stoppage time Harper made it 5-0 from close range.
Five minutes after the restart Carter added the sixth with a low shot.
Substitute Tom Levitt got his name on the scoresheet as he struck from an acute angle and fellow substitute Tim Brown made it 8-0 in the 60th minute after Paul Williams' deep cross found him at the far post. Williams added the ninth seven minutes.
Churchill completed his hat-trick in the 73rd minute when he capitalised on an error by Mick Donoghue.
And Churchill made it 11-0 with his 15th goal of the season before substitute Brown slotted his second of the night to complete the rout.
