"Secret to long life is a pint of mild" (The Argus, November 6) stated HMS Argonaut was in Tokyo harbour when the atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
I doubt this very much.
I was serving in HMS Indefatigable, flagship of the Royal Navy Pacific Fleet, aircraft carrier squadron.
We were 100 miles away when the first bomb dropped. We only entered Tokyo bay after Japan capitulated.
