Highway signwriters will have to go back to the drawing board after a roadside howler.
Motorists heading south on the A23 towards Brighton have been doing a double-take at a direction sign for Pyecomb.
Unfortunately, the "e" has been missed off the end of the village's name, which should be spelt Pyecombe.
A West Sussex County Council spokesman said: "It is obviously a mistake. We will look into it."
