Former Bears coach Mark Dunning was an interested spectator at last week's defeat by Thames Valley.

The Bracknell venue has plenty of memories for Dunning.

He was coach of Tigers for three years and was axed by Bears after defeat there in April.

Seven months on, Dunning, 44, is still looking for full-time employment.

He said: "I'm doing some tutoring on courses which brings some money in but I am still looking for something permanent.

"It might have to be something out of basketball. I have got bills to pay."

Dunning is organising a coaching clinic at Aston Villa Leisure Centre next month, at which another ex-Bears play caller will be passing on tips.

Combination defences will be Dunning's specialist subject when he takes to the floor while Billy Hungrecker's session is entitled Fundamentals for Juniors.

White's so busy
Albert White came close to a quadruple double at Thames Valley last Sunday.

As well as taking 14 rebounds, he also managed nine points, eight assists... and eight turnovers.

Stats wizard Alan Hicks reckoned Randy Duck's nine assists against Chester was one of the best tallies he could recall by a Bears player as he totted up last Saturday's facts and figures.

Bears won the rebound count 51-35 at Bracknell, having been outplayed 43-36 off the boards by Chester the previous night.

*Bears get blue Wear your colours. That's the call for Bears fans ahead of next Saturday's home clash with Milton Keynes Lions.

Highlights of the BBL clash will feature prominently in a Meridian programme at 2pm the next afternoon and Bears fans will be dressed for the occasion.

They plan to be decked out all in blue to offer an appropriate backdrop to the action.

After the disappointing turnout against Chester, it should be quite an occasion. Coach and general manager Nick Nurse declared: "It could be the biggest crowd they have ever seen at Brighton."

Matchnight MC Paul Williams is thinking up theme tunes for each player and plans a special surprise for Michael Brown when his British passport finally arrives.

Suggestions for the other players will no doubt be gratefully received via the Bears message board at brightonbears.com
