I am somewhat intrigued by the spate of roadworks that has recently sprung up in Telscombe Road, Peacehaven, comprising speed humps, dropped kerbs, traffic priority systems, 20mph speed limits and centre-of-road islands.
All this in a road with a very moderate through-flow of traffic and, I believe, an accident-free record.
Perhaps an official in the highways department can throw some light on this curious state of affairs?
