Two pedestrians were injured when they were hit in a West Sussex car park by an automatic car driven by a 77-year-old man.
A 47-year-old woman from South Harting, near Midhurst, suffered severe leg injuries in the accident.
The accident happened yesterday afternoon in the Budgens superstore car park in Midhurst.
The woman and a 57-year-old male pedestrian from Kirdford, who suffered minor injuries, were taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, for treatment.
The driver of the Peugeot 305 automatic car was uninjured.
Chichester traffic police are investigating.
No names have been released by Sussex Police, who operate data protection guidelines.
