Sammy Donnelly is on the verge of quitting as Worthing manager.
Donnelly will call a meeting with supporters after tomorrow's home game with Windsor and Eton amid growing fears that his five-year tenure at Woodside Road is nearing an end.
The popular Rebels boss was stunned when he arrived for training on Tuesday and was told he faced another cut in his playing budget.
Donnelly will not reveal his plans until after tomorrow's clash but he said: "My mind is made up about what I need to do.
"I am desperate to win tomorrow. I rate this one of my most significant matches at Worthing."
Donnelly claimed Rebels' budget was now half what it was at the start of the season.
Contract midfielder Darren Baxter, the club's highest earner, has been transfer-listed among the latest cost cutting measures.
Donnelly said: "They did not even tell me they were having a board meeting on Tuesday.
"I only found out when I arrived for training and saw the boardroom curtains were closed.
"Then they expect me to go and tell the players their money has been cut again."
Rebels were stunned earlier in the week when commercial director Matthew Major, one of Donnelly's chief allies behind the scenes at Woodside, quit the club.
Chairman Beau Reynolds hopes Donnelly will stay with the club and called for patience from the fans.
He said: "I don't really think the supporters undertand the situation.
"We get £600 or £700 at the gate for every match and that is supposed to get us through two weeks.
"I am sure Sammy will stick with us. All clubs go through good and bad times, but the board are unanimous in wanting him to stay."

Rocks are one of only two sides in the Conference, Ryman, Dr Martens and Unibond Leagues still boasting unbeaten league records. Lancaster are the others. Michael and David Birmingham are their main doubts.
