Police waiting to interview a man over the death of a mother-of-five say he could be released from hospital later this week.
The 46-year-old painter and decorator was today still in hospital following the death of Kim Baldry, 44, of Gorringe Road, Eastbourne, who died from stab wounds.
Murder squad detectives working on Operation Duxford cannot begin to question him about the murder until he is discharged from hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition.
He was arrested at Mrs Baldry's house on suspicion of murder.
A spokesman said: "Although he is still stable we are waiting for his health to improve before we start questioning him."
