The owners of an old people's home are appealing for help to catch thieves who stole their giant Christmas lights.
The 3ft plastic illuminated figure of a snowman holding a broom and 2.5ft igloo with a penguin hanging up a stocking were taken from a Christmas light display at The White House residential home in Saltdean.
The lights were part of a display created by owners Jon and Carrie Hall at the home, in Chichester Drive West, and could be seen by motorists travelling east or west on the nearby A259 coast road.
The stolen figures, worth £100, were installed in the garden next to an illuminated Christmas tree.
Thieves entered the garden while residents slept, cut the main power cables and made off with the figures.
The rest of the display, including rope lights, a Christmas tree on the balcony and illuminated bells and train screwed to the front of the building were left undisturbed.
Mrs Hall said: "The residents are upset and mad that anyone could do such a thing."
They are offering a £200 reward to anyone who gives information leading to the arrest of the thieves and the return of the lights.
Detective Constable Phil Smith, of Sussex Police, said: "Obviously a 2.5ft glowing igloo with penguin and a 3ft plastic snowman are very distinctive."
