Becky Gell has received a national hockey call-up, thanks to Chichester Tech.
The 17-year-old has been chosen for the British Colleges squad following trials at Cannock.
The left-back said: "I feel very cheerful about being chosen and I believe the college must take a lot of the credit.
"I have only been at the college this year and came as a county standard player. But they have elevated my game so much by improving my technique and mental strength.
"I now have so much extra motivation because I have someone to help me focus apart from myself. The support helps me to stay on track.
"I'd never been into sports psychology before but it has made a big difference to my game.
"The help I have received from my college has turned me into an international player. They have helped make a dream come true for me."
Becky sees her recognition as just the start.
"I have a lot of goals. I would like to go on and play for my country at senior level and hopefully the Olympics. I believe these things are possible."
Becky will join the squad in the New Year to begin preparations for a tour to Holland.
Her coach Paul Robinson, head of the Tech's Hockey Academy, is delighted. He said: "Becky is a role model for the men and women I've got with our Academy. A player like her only comes a long once in a while.
"She's got the potential to go a long way. I'm very pleased for her. She deserves it. She is very coachable. Becky is very much a part of the Academy which has a five-year plan for producing players and is already two years ahead.
"Becky is the first to graduate into the international arena from it and hopefully there'll be more."
Rebecca plays for her college, the city's club and South of England under-18s.
Vicky Bryant will attend an England under-16s trials at Seaford College tomorrow through to Sunday. The 15-year-old Roedean pupil from Eastbourne, who plays for her home town club, is a South of England Territorial player.
She helped her school win the Roedean Invitational Under-16 tournament. They overcame Brighton and Hove High School for Girls 3-0 in the final after seeing off Burgess Hill School for Girls 2-0 in the semi-finals. Brighton beat St Leonards Maresfield on penalties in the last four.
Roedean: Vicky Bryant (captain), Jane Worssam, Sonia Edmondson, Jean Isvarphornchai, Inga Usher, Jennifer Knight, Elissa Mansell, Tamsy Brown-Hovelt, Emma Corabally, Clare Prebble, Bethan Street.
