Comedian Steve Coogan says his most famous creation, Alan Partridge, will return to the screen next autumn.
The Hove-based star has left the failed sports commentator and chat show host on the sidelines for several years to concentrate on other projects.
These have included starring in the film The Parole Officer and a forthcoming appearance in the movie 24 Hour Party People about the Hacienda night club in Manchester.
But, speaking on his friend Frank Skinner's ITV1 chat show, Coogan revealed he is already working on scripts for a new series featuring Partridge and would be filming next year.
