The hunt is on for people who qualify for a party at Buckingham Palace, sipping tea with the Queen.
West Sussex is to be allocated tickets for a garden party on July 9 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee.
Many of the guests will be chosen because they were born on the day the Queen ascended to the throne, February 6, 1952.
People who turn 50 on that date and want to attend the party have been invited to write to the office of the Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex at County Hall, Chichester, enclosing a copy of their birth certificate and giving details of the one guest aged over 18 they would like to take with them.
But a spokesman warned there might have to be a ballot if the number of applications exceeded the number of places allocated to West Sussex.
The spokesman said: "Anyone of British nationality living in West Sussex who was born on February 6, 1952, may apply."
The closing date for applications is January 25.
