With reference to recent letters on the identity of Jack The Ripper, I would ask: "Who cares?"
Assuming the killer was a young man when he committed the crimes and lived to a ripe old age, he still would have died at least half a century ago.
As for spending an alleged £2 million on research, would that money have been better spent on solving more urgent cases?
