Little James Spencer was rocking with joy after winning the grand prize in a competition run by The Argus.
The one-year-old had the winning ticket in a draw held at Santa's grotto in The Gingerbread House in The Lanes, Brighton.
Every child who met Father Christmas had their names entered into the raffle to win a hand-carved leather-saddled rocking horse worth £750.
James collected his prize with mother Tara yesterday at the Earthly Artifacts store in The Lanes.
Tara, 27, from Yapton near Arundel, said it had been her grandmother's idea to pop into the grotto, which was run in aid of The Argus Appeal.
More than 4,000 children visited the grotto which raised £25,000 for The Argus Appeal, including a £10,000 donation from Legal and General.
