New Year's Day was memorable for all the wrong reasons for Eastbourne Borough players and management.
They made the trip to Sittingbourne only for the game to be postponed within an hour of kick-off.
A disappointed Greenwood said: "When we got there we thought it was just about playable but the referee was worried it would become worse by the second half and become a lottery.
"What's disappointing is if there was a doubt they could have made a decision earlier and we would not have had to travel.
"As it was, we left at 11.30am and I didn't get home until 5.30pm and there wasn't even a game. We were not even able to train whereas Sittingbourne could at least do that. We wasted an entire day on a coach."
However, Greenwood conceded: "We had a few players unavailable and possibly would not have been able to field our strongest team, so, on that basis, it was not such a bad thing."
Matt Allen was expected to play today at Fisher having recovered from an injury sustained in an off-the-ball incident against Chatham which left him with stud marks down a leg.
Greenwood said: "I spoke to the referee afterwards and he told me that he would have taken action if he had seen anything.
"I had a word with the linesman's assistant as he had his back to the game when the incident occurred. He was talking to the Chatham officials in the technical area when he should have been watching the game."
Stuart Tuck was also injured against Chatham, and doubtful for today's trip to Fisher.
The forthcoming Trophy tie at Dagenham is catching the imagination of the Borough fans.
Greenwood said: "I think they are on to their fifth coach now. There has been a great response and people are going to make a day of it and have a good time."
Meanwhile, Sidley are talking to St Leonards player Mick O'Callaghan about a possible move back to Gullivers. O'Callaghan has been let go by boss Glyn White at Saints.
