Worthing's woes continued with a disappointing 3-0 home defeat against in-form Slough Town.
Rebels have now lost their last four division one games and the size of the rebuilding task facing manager Barry Lloyd was all too evident following the latest comprehensive defeat.
Lloyd's men were effectively out of the game when they conceded their third goal midway through the second half, and despite a late rally, there was no consolation for the hosts on another grim day.
Worthing, who have not scored in their last three games, found nippy striker Neville Roach a constant handful and he got the better of Andy Alexander to fire Slough ahead after 11 minutes.
Worthing's Wesley Lopez earlier skimmed the bar with a cross-shot from the left after Roach had a 25-yarder parried by keeper James Wastell.
Wastell bravely went down at the feet of Roach and Michael Gilkes hit a first time shot wide before Slough doubled their lead through Darron Wilkinson.
The midfielder scored with a simple tap-in five minutes after the break after Wastell touched a shot from Veli Hakki onto the bar.
Paul Kennett was unlucky when he had a blistering drive tipped over by keeper Steve Mautone, but a trip by Mark Knee on Roach allowed Simon Ullathorne to seal Slough's win from the penalty spot.
Meanwhile, Bognor's division one promotion hopes were dented when they lost 3-1 at Yeading and boss Jack Pearce was not impressed.
He said: "Unfortunately we didn't have the whole side showing the right desire and application."
Despite looking the better side for the opening 25 minutes, Bognor found were two down at half time. to goals from Matt Miller and Keith Newby.
Rocks gave them selves a chance in the 84th minute when Jodey Rowland volleyed home a David Birmingham cross from just inside the area. But joy was short lived when within a minute Matt Edwards rifled home Yeading's third on the counter-attack
