A depressed East Sussex woman left a suicide note in her kitchen cupboard which led police to her body, an inquest heard.
The body of Dorothy Pennington, 62, was pulled from the Common Pond in Station Road, Hailsham, by an underwater search team.
She had written of her intention to take her life in a note, found by her husband Michael at their home in Horebeech Lane, Horam.
Mr Pennington told the Eastbourne inquest his wife had been "fed up with the country" in the weeks leading up to her death on October 4 last year.
Mr Pennington first became alarmed when he returned home from a gardening job at 6pm on October 3. His wife was out.
Later that evening he discovered the note in the cupboard. It led detectives to the Common Pond, where her body was found early on October 4.
Coroner Alan Craze said: "Because of the note, I am satisfied there can be no alternative verdict but suicide."
