As a commuter who spends hours a week shivering in the cold on railway stations, forced to put up with daily delays, cancellations and, now, strikes, I have plenty of time to wonder what Sussex MPs are doing about this appalling situation.
Thousands of their voters are affected daily but none of our local MPs appears to have an opinion. If they do, they are keeping it a closely guarded secret.
Apart from commuters, businesses of all kinds are suffering because people are late for work, meetings or appointments.
My doctor and dentist are both in despair because of the sheer number of missed appointments caused by people being stuck on railway platforms or in late trains.
Is it too much to hope our MPs might be trying to help us persuade the Government that, after almost five years in power, it should actually improve the railways?
