Computer services group Computacenter warned that the downturn in its market was expected to continue into the current year.
The company, which designs, supports and manages information technology systems for large firms across Europe, said it had not been immune to poor conditions, which had been worse than predicted.
Computacenter said it was well placed to deliver profit growth this year with levels for the last calendar year expected to be in line with forecasts of £52 million.
Pre-tax profits for the year to December 31, 2000, were £55.6 million.
