Plans to build a police custody centre in Eastbourne have been approved.
The borough council's planning committee voted unanimously to approve the building of the two-storey centre at land off Lottbridge Drove, Eastbourne, near the town's industrial estates.
Sussex Police had already been given been approval to build a custody centre on land off Dallington Road, Hampden Park, but failed to reach an agreement with the land owners and were forced to resubmit an application for an alternative site.
