Mary taught the women's history access course for Sussex University during the early Nineties.
I was one of the many women who benefited from Mary's tuition.
The subject was superb and gave many women the opportunity to gain a degree. Mary's support for women whose previous educational experiences had been poor opened doors that changed lives for ever - a positive role model for young girls.
I am glad you left South Africa, Mary.
