Show Me How to Use Word provides a low-cost way to learn the basics of Microsoft Word on your PC.
Multi-media lessons combined with a good course structure and excellent material mean you will become productive very quickly.
The way the course is structured is very clever. The user simply picks a topic, clicks on the appropriate button and then sits back and watches an expert deliver chapter and verse on it.
The software does not assume any previous knowledge and goes right back to basics.
This is an excellent way to get started. The lessons can be repeated over and over again until they have been learned properly and they do not make the new user feel like an idiot.
I have looked at a lot of training programmes over the past year. Some have been good and others have not quite made the grade for one reason or another.
This title falls somewhere in the middle. It is excellent for absolute beginners but those with a bit of knowledge may find the style rather tedious and could get bored quite quickly.
Having said this, the package is extremely comprehensive and covers a huge amount of material, including document creation, formatting, using tables and data and working with graphics.
Each topic is covered in a sensible fashion and the instruction is very thorough but rather long-winded.
The title represents excellent value for money and is ideal for those learning at home or on their own.
