I quite agree with Vince Powell on the state of British comedy at the moment. In many cases, it is crude and entirely unsuitable for family viewing.
The good comedy programmes years ago were funny and you could watch them with the children, not worried about what you were going to see or hear.
There is a growing trend now to watch US comedy programmes which, on the whole, are unfunny and not suitable for family viewing.
This comedy may amuse the Americans but it does not amuse me.
The old British comedy programmes are the best and, fortunately, we can still watch them today.
There must be writers out there who can write comedy programmes without being crude and which we could watch with the family.
