I must be excessively naive. I had always assumed the Churchill Centre creche was a facility provided by the centre's owners or the shops therein to encourage parents with small children to shop in the centre.
It turns out the creche is a private enterprise paying rent for its premises.
If, as it seems, the present arrangements are what the parents want (and the proposed new arrangement not what the parents want) shouldn't Standard Life Investments and the shops contribute to its upkeep?
After all, it is they who benefit from its presence.
