Regarding Jacqui Bealing's "Home Truths" on TV programmes (The Argus, January 12), I did not want sport, old films or cable, so I inquired about Italian television, which I have had for five years.

I get more variety of foreign news, ten stations that have greatly improved my Italian and no monthly fees to pay. If you took French at school, it's worth looking into. We could all do with a foreign language for holidays.

By the way, most programmes have English subtitles. So have a go, Jacqui, and maybe spread the word. Arrivederci.
