Danny Davis is back in action after the worst injury of his fledgling football career.
Now he is aiming to give Worthing a lift and end a depressing run which has sent them plummeting into the lower reaches of Division One.
Davis, 21, has been out of action since suffering a broken collar bone in the goalless draw at Tooting on September 22.
He has had to look on in anguish as Rebels have changed managers, lost players and slipped down the table and admitted: "It has been frustrating but I am fine now and feeling fit.
"It was by far the worst injury I have ever had but I have been back in training now for two weeks with Worthing."
Davis eased himself in with a game for Worthing United in the County League and was in the Rebels squad for the return with Tooting at Woodside Road this afternoon.
He has been busy working as a builder with his father and has kept in touch with several former Albion colleagues, including Will Packham and Adam Virgo.
Having been released by the Seagulls last season, Davis would love to rejoin the ranks of the professionals but said: "For now all I aim to do is get some games and see how things progress,"
Rebels boss Barry Lloyd said he had no knowledge of reported interest from Burgess Hill in striker Gavin Geddes.
Major changes to the Woodside squad will be on hold all the time they are still in the Senior Cup.
