Six people are to appear in court over allegations of deception and holding mock auctions at an electrical store.
The offences were allegedly committed at The Outlet store in North Street Quadrant, Brighton, between October 1 and November 30 last year.
The prosecution is being brought by the trading standards department at Brighton and Hove City Council, following months of investigation.
The six have all been charged with conspiracy to obtain property by deception, namely money, and offences under the Mock Auctions Act.
They are Liam McBratney, 25, of Lansdowne Place, Hove; Lisa Firth, 19, of Green- acres, Shoreham; John Sexton, 33, of Tufnell Park Road, London; John Peter Cook, 39, of College Cross, Islington; David Cranstone, 41, of Little Bay Close, Stotfield, Hertfordshire and Barry Joseph, 35, of Elia St, Islington.
Cranstone and Cook also face additional charges relating to other trading standards matters.
They will appear before Brighton magistrates on Wednesday.
