John Orgar (Letters, January 4) wishes for a society where services are not affected by Christmas Day.
I would be interested to know if he himself wishes to work on this day, or indeed does. My partner and daughter both work in essential services and for many years it has not been possible to spend Christmas Day together.
Does Mr. Orgar consider that all aspects of working society should follow his preference, or only the type of services he specifies? I would love to have all my family together at Christmas, society would benefit from a bit of quality family time.
