A 77-year-old pensioner was seriously injured by a car on the A23 in Crawley.
The accident happened as he was crossing the dual carriageway just south of Cheals Roundabout in Southgate last night.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with any information should contact PC Nigel Wren at Horsham Traffic on 0845 60 70 999.
