David Blunkett has tried three times to pass a Bill in Parliament against religious hatred.
We live in a multi-faith society relatively peacefully. I was very shocked by Anne Norton's comments about the Jehovah's Witnesses (Letters, January 18).
They are peace-loving people who truly believe they have the truth and want to share it with everyone.
All religions believe they are the true one but most do not have the zeal and courage of the Witnesses to go from door to door and be insulted.
When I was ill, they offered to help me do the housework.
On another occasion, a Witness photocopied an article for me that was nothing to do with religion.
Do people realise the Witnesses have been persecuted and many perished in Auschwitz?
We should respect other people's views while not sharing them.
I am not a Jehovah's Witness, nor would I have any intention of becoming one.
I am a practising Catholic but try to share what we have in common with other faiths, which is God.
