If one of the big superstores put in planning permission to build at the Seagulls' intended Falmer site and said it was the people's store, no doubt a fair number of people would use the site - maybe as many or more people as the Albion would get over a year.
A greater range of people would benefit. We all have to eat. Would there be as much enthusiasm shown by The Argus and some of the big names associated with the football stadium? I doubt it. A business is a business. Leave the Downs alone.
