Wick old boys Peter Durrant and Ben Milford combined on their debuts to help Southwick sink their former club.
Sammy Donnelly's men snatched a 2-1 win at Crabtree Park, with Durrant heading the late winner from a Milford free-kick.
Goalkeeper Dave Treadwell also made his debut for Southwick while the home side had a host of new boys on parade.
Jason Tighe headed in Wayne Potbury's near post free-kick for the first-half opener.
Wick responded strongly in the second half and scored through Dave Schneider.
Wick had just three survivors from their previous game a fortnight ago and had to field reserve striker Kevin Punter as an emergency goalkeeper.
New boss Richie Reynolds said: "We got better as the game went on. For the first hour the players were still finding out each others' names."
Horsham YMCA won 2-1 at Sidlesham, helped by some great second-half saves from Jason Dumbrill.
He was beaten by a well taken Richard Davies strike but YM were two-up by then. Joel O'Hara fired in from 20 yards and Andrew Price headed a superb goal from Nick Flint's cross.
Hassocks fought back from 2-0 down at half-time to grab a 3-2 victory at Littlehampton with substitute Marc Rendall playing a starring role.
Robins boss Dave John admitted his side 'were not at the races' in the first half as Russell Hardwell converted an indirect free-kick before Richie Phillips, on his debut, helped set up Derren Woods for the second to give the Marigolds a two-goal cushion at the break.
Full-back Ian Brown missed a glorious chance on the restart and Hassocks immediately pulled a goal back through James Laing and then a shuffle of the pack saw Rendall introduced and he scored twice to steal the points.
Chichester boss Adie Girdler started with Roger Moore, Tony Stephens and Jamie Laidlaw up front for the visit of seemingly doomed Saltdean but they only had a 1-0 goal advantage at the break through a Paul Thomas penalty following a handball despite having the benefit of the wind at their backs.
Girdler rung the changes in the second half, bringing on Sid Sanderson and after a scrappy spell they found their feet with Stuart Chandler pulling the strings in midfield. Jamie Laidlaw, from a Matt Smith pass, and two goals from Chandler wrapped up the scoring.
Girdler said: "After Laidlaw got our second goal it seemed to give us the confidence to go on and Chandler did well for us in the middle of midfield after we switched things around."
