Police are appealing for witnesses to the attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl.
A man tried to pull the teenager into his car as she made her way to a youth centre in Shoreham.
The girl managed to struggle free and ran to the youth wing at Kings Manor Community College in Kingston Lane.
She told a youth worker what had happened and the police were called.
The girl told them three men were sitting in a white Peugeot 205 with a red stripe down the side.
As she walked past, the driver grabbed the arm of her jacket and tried to pull her into the car.
Inspector Chris Drew, of Shoreham police, said: "The girl broke free and managed to get away from them. We would like to hear from anyone who saw a similar car in the area around the time of the attack on January 31, at 7.30pm.
"The car was a rusty or dirty white colour rather than a newer model."
The driver was white, in his late 30s, about 6ft tall and slim with curly brown hair which came down over his ears.
The front-seat passenger had a shaved head and was of a large build.
The man in the back seat had brown short-cropped hair.
Both passengers were also in their 30s.
Anyone with information is asked to phone Shoreham police on 0845 6070999.
