Why do these so-called disabled advisers set themselves up as the only people who know what disabled people want and need?
What really breaks my heart is I cannot use the specially-adapted buses because my small-sized electric buggy, without which I stay at home, cannot make it on and off the bus with the addition of the new safety pole.
However much I manoeuvre, I cannot get around the pole to reach the required position.
The Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee (Diptac) must understand there is not just one regular-sized disabled person who uses one size or type of wheelchair.
If Diptac continues to be the body that advises government, it needs to include all kinds of disabled people and their different needs in surveys.
