I have worked in Holland for the past 35 years. On paper it's 36 hours a week but - wait - a so-called flexible clause in the contract approved by trade unions means longer working hours in "peak" periods.
Anything above 36 hours is subtracted and we receive a shorter winter work week. In the long run, I think I'm worse off.
